"I am elated to be the PreK-8th grade art teacher at St. Theodore Catholic School this coming 2022-2023 school year! I believe that each child is a beautiful artist with wonderful gifts and abilities. It will be my joy and honor to plan meaningful and motivating art lessons in a variety of media for each grade level. My objectives are to nurture the unique artistic talents and skills of each student through fun and engaging projects which focus on the elements of art/principles of design, age-appropriate art concepts, vocabulary, and skills, art history, children’s literature, and appealing art subject matter.
I strive to develop a high quality art program with rich, fresh activities that meet national standards while integrating music, literature, and other school subjects. I also care about addressing individual learning styles and needs and work to establish a safe and friendly learning environment in which each child can comfortably communicate and problem solve. In addition, I personally attended Catholic elementary, middle, and high school. With a deep love of the Catholic faith in my heart, I look forward to guiding the students in a spiritual manner and to becoming part of the St. Theodore spirit-filled community.
I taught K-8 art at beautiful North American Catholic School my first year teaching. After that I taught K-5 art happily and successfully for the Fort Zumwalt School District for many years. I also have my own dual art business in which I provide private art instruction for students PreK-12 and create custom fine artwork for clients. In addition, I am working towards the completion of my master’s degree in studio art at Lindenwood University with an emphasis in Tonalism.
I greatly look forward to meeting all of you and to providing exciting art projects at the school for all to enjoy!"
